Replacement
A three-ton condenser that matched a sea-level postcard often does not match a 1912 Denver square with the original ducts. We measure the house, the ductwork, and the electrical service before we name a tonnage.
The furnace is past a safe repair
A failed heat exchanger, or a repair that costs more than the equipment has left. We will say so and still price the repair if it is honest.
The condenser is original to the addition
R-22 is gone. Replacement is a matched system, not a new outdoor unit on a coil that cannot take it.
You want heat and cool from one machine
Air-source heat pumps work in Denver when the electric service and the ducts can support them. We check both before recommending one.
You are selling, or you just bought
Inspection items on older 80% furnaces are a normal October. We quote the correction the report actually named.
A replacement quote includes the equipment, the flue or line set, a permit when one is required, and the inspection. Duct changes are called out on their own line if the house needs them. You should be able to compare two quotes without decoding them.
Sample ranges we use so a conversation can start: a high-efficiency furnace, installed, often lands between $6,800 and $11,500. A matched air conditioner, between $7,200 and $13,000. Your house will not be the range. It will be a number after a visit. Financing, if you want it, is a separate lender and a separate yes.
